Back from Hiding

It’s been too long since I last posted. We traveled to the South Pacific to spend two weeks in the Society Islands: Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Raiatea, and Tahaa. GEORGEOUS!!!! The warmth and friendliness of the people matches the beauty of their surroundings. It truly is a paradise.

Our biggest challenge came with packing. When the suitcases come out, Peach climbs in. She knows we’re going someplace. She probably thinks that if she curls up inside, we’ll take her with us!

Maybe they won’t notice me

We also had assistance from LeBron, our dachshund. He felt it necessary to test out our new neck pillows. I have to say, it’s a really good look for him. With those ears positioned the way they are, he could have flown himself to the islands.IMG_0422.jpg

And then came the thought of how to find my suitcase among all the other drab colored suitcases. Since my suitcases always end up one step closer to their final resting place in the landfill (thanks to the gentle handling by the airlines), I thought, “Why not customize mine?”sausagedogsrule.jpg

Who knows, just maybe they’ll get better attention. I got quite a few positive comments about this, so keep your eye out – I’ll be making this into one of my new designs (with a little more finesse to it).

If you ever make it to Moorea, stay at the Club Bali Hai. It’s not one of those fancy resorts with a million other tourists staying there, cooking by the pool and marinating in oil and alcohol. What it is is a very welcoming peaceful place with an incredible view and some really wonderful people running it. You can’t find a more beautiful setting to see every day. See for yourself.
